ESPN Internship

ESPN Internship - Fall 2017

At ESPN I interned as a UX/UI Designer on the Fantasy Sports team, aiding in the overhaul of their website and mobile experience. During my time at ESPN I worked on the app loading screen, email templates, and various pages throughout the game. Unfortunately I am unable to show what I worked on here, but I will discuss some of it and would be happy to present it in person.

One of the major projects I worked on was the onboarding flow. The goal was to design a more user friendly way to create or join leagues and start playing. The old flow was disjointed and often dumped users onto pages without explanation. I started the overhaul by going through all the current ways to start playing and determining all the commonalities I needed to keep in mind when designing a cohesive onboarding process. With content requirements from the product team, I was given free reign to design the pages. To start I stayed away from out library of components in order to create a more focused and sport specific design. Throughout the process I receive input from the design, product, and development teams, resulting in numerous discussions and changes along the way. The end result was a polished flow that maintained the structure I started with, but with components much closer to the standard library.
